Kelly’s Priorities

A Responsible State Budget

During her time serving on the powerful Senate Finance Committee, Kelly supported fiscally-responsible, balanced budgets which funded essential services, like public safety and education, put money into savings, and paid a PFD– all without new taxes!

Kelly supports our local Eagle River-Chugiak Schools. She supports an increase to the base student allocation (BSA) and public education funding. She had three kids go through Eagle River schools. She knows families choose our community because of our strong schools, and we must do everything we can do make sure they are well-funded and remain competitive.

Resource Development

Kelly believes in responsible development of Alaska’s natural resources. She is working to eliminate barriers to growth in our state and promoting the value of investing here. Kelly supports a natural gas pipeline.

Public Safety Champion

Kelly has made public safety one of her top priorities in Juneau. She is proud to have supported tough on crime legislation which makes Eagle-River Chugiak a safer community. She supported funding for prosecution of criminals, enuring victims get the justice they deserve. Kelly is endorsed by the Firefighters Union and the Anchorage Police Union PAC. She supports increased funding for our public safety officers and first responders.

No New Taxes

As other Republicans and Democrats have introduced new tax bills in recent years, Kelly has opposed taxing hard-working Alaskans and successfully blocked income tax legislation. With inflation and the increased cost of living in Alaska, Kelly knows Eagle-River Chugiak families can’t afford new taxes.
