Fighting to make Interior living more affordable

Savannah knows we must reduce energy costs, plain and simple. We must support projects that bring more ALASKA natural gas to interior homes. She knows we must also capture federal funding that will help us build more energy infrastructure and alleviate the high cost of rates.

Savannah will protect the Power Cost Equalization program (PCE).

Savannah will protect property tax payers. Property tax payers should NOT foot the bill for Juneau’s failures to adequately fund services and public education.

Savannah will support all efforts to build more affordable housing in Fairbanks.

Building our Interior Economy

Roads. Bridges. Pipelines. New Housing. Mining. Fairbanks and the Interior need infrastructure and resource development projects and the local jobs with them.

Savannah will support responsible development projects, prioritize workforce development, and ensure local hire.

She will support our economic engines like UAF, our small businesses, our resource industry, and skilled trades.

Fairbanks must attract and retain families with good paying jobs and a thriving economy.

Public Education Champion

Savannah believes we must do more to fund education, keep class sizes down, prevent school closures in our communities, get students the one-on-one attention they deserve, and ensure students are learning the practical and technical skills they need to be successful in our state. We must recruit and retain talented educators.

Across Fairbanks and the Interior, cuts to public education are threatening out way of life. Savannah is committed to tackling the issue and ensuring our schools remain some of the best in the state.

Savannah is a strong supporter of UAF and understands how important it is to Fairbanks and the Interior. She will oppose all cuts and attempts to move jobs and funding to Anchorage.
